The Republican-led legislature just passed a bill restricting most health insurance plans from covering abortion – even in the case of rape or incest. If they want to be covered, women will have to pay out of pocket for “rape insurance.”
Fortunately, our Democratic candidate Mark Schauer is leading the fight against this outrageous attack on women. We’re helping Mark demand that Republicans repeal this monstrosity of a bill. To get this passed, Michigan Republicans and anti-choice groups exploited a loophole involving a “citizen-initiated petition,” which only 4% of the state’s eligible voters signed.
It’s rule by radical minority, and it must be stopped.
